Rugby League Players’ Association (RLPA) CEO, Clint Newton, has released the following statement in response to allegations of racial abuse during last night’s game between Gold Coast and Newcastle.
“We respect the process to be run by NRL Integrity Unit relating to the alleged incident in last night’s game,” Newton said.
“It’s crucial that this process is worked through in a confidential and respectful manner to ensure this matter is dealt with appropriately.
“We have reached out to the players involved to offer our support throughout the Integrity Unit process.
“We will remain in contact with all parties involved and continue providing support to both players.”
